About the Author Tina’s Journey from Pain to Purpose

Tina is a woman of unshakable faith, courage, and resilience. Born into the travelling community and raised on the outskirts of South East London, her life has been marked by heartbreak, survival, and divine transformation. Today, she stands as a voice for women who have walked through abuse, trauma, and silence — a living testimony that God can turn pain into purpose.

Her journey began in 2012, when an evangelist named Olu knocked on her door and shared the love of Jesus Christ. Though Tina had always believed, her relationship with God had grown distant. That day changed everything. After praying the sinner’s prayer and inviting the Holy Spirit into her life, Olu told her, “You’re going to write a book one day.”

At that time, Tina could not imagine such a thing. She was still carrying the unbearable weight of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), fear, and deep shame — wounds that had shaped her entire world. “I didn’t want to be transparent,” she says. “I didn’t want people to know my story. I just wanted to hide.”

But the Lord had already written her destiny.

After years of trying to build a family and hold together a narcissistic and abusive marriage, Tina found herself in a spiral that led to a near-fatal suicide attempt and a six-year prison sentence. What looked like the end became her divine wake-up call. “God needed my attention,” she recalls. “Prison was the place where He met me, healed me, and began to rebuild me.”

Inside, Tina met the prison chapel leader who listened, prayed, and encouraged her to tell her story. For the first time, Tina opened up about her abuse and pain. In that moment, freedom began. “the prison chaplain told me that my testimony could help other women find hope — and I knew she was right. It was time to stop running from my story and start using it to heal others.”

Despite leaving school at just 14, Tina’s determination and faith grew stronger. She began journaling, studying Scripture, and writing the words that would become her first book. The verse Mark 9:23 became her anchor:

“Everything is possible for one who believes.”

Tina’s courage has since inspired women inside and outside prison walls. Her honesty about domestic abuse, generational trauma, and faith-based healing continues to touch hearts wherever her story is shared.

She has also spoken openly about losing both her father and her aunt Tina (who was like a mother to her) to a double suicide when she was only seven years old — a tragedy that left deep scars but also awakened a lifelong empathy for others in pain.

Now, as she completes Volume One of her life story, Tina’s mission extends far beyond the pages of a book. She dreams of creating a film or television series that will bring awareness, compassion, and healing to women worldwide — and to use a percentage of the proceeds to build a women’s refuge offering safety, recovery, and hope to survivors of abuse and violence.

“No matter where you’ve been, your past doesn’t define your future.
God can still use your story to set someone else free.” — Tina

Her writing is raw yet redemptive, grounded in faith but relatable to anyone who has ever felt lost, broken, or unworthy of love. Through her words, Tina invites women everywhere to believe again — to rise again — and to know that freedom is possible.
